The Coalition for Successful Youth Development
Mission Statement: To prevent and reduce alcohol and substance abuse through program development and activities designed to ignite community awareness and support.
Vision Statement: Kingman will be a community that is committed to providing education resources and constructive youth activities in order to create healthy, productive citizens.
Strategic Prevention Framework Problem Statement: High rates of alcohol use, arrests for sales, possession, liquor law violations, disorderly conduct, community norms favorable to alcohol use, lack of perceived parental disapproval and access to alcohol by underage persons in the Kingman area make underage drinking a leading health and safety issue.
Community Readiness:
2006 - At least some community members recognize that it is a concern but there is little recognition that it might be occuring locally.
2007 - Most feel that there is local concern but there is not immediate motivation to do anything about it.
2008 - There is clear recognition that something must be done and there may even be a group addressing it.
